Virginia Urology Center Scholarship

The Virginia Urology Center Scholarship Program was established in 1999 to benefit graduating seniors from public and private high schools in communities where Virginia Urology offices are located, including Metropolitan Richmond, the Tri-Cities, Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula and South Hill.  The scholarship supports post-secondary study in the fields of science and medicine. Funds awarded will help to cover the costs of tuition, room, board, books and laboratory fees.

Eligibility

An eligible student must be a senior attending a state-accredited public or private high school in communities where Virginia Urology offices are located, including Metropolitan Richmond, the Tri-Cities, Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula and South Hill. 

An eligible student must demonstrate outstanding academic work, financial need, and strong participation in school activities and community service.

An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university the following academic year.

An eligible student must demonstrate intent to pursue post-secondary study in the fields of science or medicine.

College students who are presently receiving this scholarship, and have maintained a B average in major subjects, may reapply by submitting the completed online application.

Selection Criteria

Note: Students applying for the Virginia Urology Scholarship will also be considered for the W.J . Blanchet Scholarship. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying for on your application form. Applicants will be automatically considered for both scholarship awards.

Academic achievement and acceptance to an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution of higher education.

Financial need will be evaluated on the basis of the completed Student Financial Information Form and information regarding pending scholarship applications, if any.

Demonstrated intent to pursue post-secondary study in the fields of science or medicine.
