Biography:
Lissy Bryan is an active community volunteer, notably in the areas of affordable housing and child welfare. She has served as a Director of the Better Housing Coalition since 1995 and as its Chairman from 2000 to 2011. As a volunteer for Henrico County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for over eight years, she logged hundreds of hours advocating for children who are abused and neglected and who, as a consequence, interface with the juvenile and family courts. Bryan also is Vice Chairman of the Bolling Haxall House Foundation, and is involved with George Washington’s Fredericksburg Foundation. She is also a member of the Women of Virginia Commemorative Commission. Previous service includes the boards of Downtown Presents, Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, Metro Richmond Sportsbackers and the Children’s Museum of Richmond. Before coming to Richmond in 1993, Bryan served as Director, Licensing and Product Development for the Smithsonian Institution and VP, Marketing for the National Audubon Society.
