Biography:
Thomas S. Gayner is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Markel Corporation. He has held a variety of positions with Markel since he joined the Company in 1990. Previously he was a certified public accountant at Pricewaterhouse Cooper and a vice president of Davenport & Company of Virginia. Gayner serves on the Board of Directors of The Davis Fund in New York City, The Washington Post Company in Washington, DC and Colfax Corporation in Fulton, MA. He is also past president of Richmond Society of Financial Analysts.
