Membership
The Youth Philanthropy Project is a great way for young people to give back to their community in a fun and innovative way. The commitment averages 2-4 hours per month, with meetings scheduled on the third Saturday of every month. For donors of The Community Foundation, the Youth Philanthropy Project is a great way to involve your children and grandchildren in philanthropy.
The committee is comprised of middle and high school students (8th – 12th grade) from area public and private schools. Individuals are encouraged to join the committee and continue until high school graduation, as new participants benefit from the guidance of more experienced members. Accordingly, we accept new applications between May and September.
If you are interested in joining the Youth Philanthropy Project, please contact Susan Hallett or Kim Russell at (804) 330-7400. We will ask that you meet with us in person to review further details, as well as complete a brief application.
