Greater Richmond Area Child & Youth Needs and Assets Assessment

Prepared for The Community Foundation by the Central Virginia Health Planning Agency, July 2007


This report is a community needs and assets assessment focusing on health and human services in Greater Richmond for children and youth ages birth to 19 years. The results of the needs assessment include:

  1.    Identification of priority needs, and recommendations to assist with TCF’s allocation of its grant funding;
  2.    Provision of a baseline for use in determining the impact of future community initiatives in the area of youth services; and
  3.    A valuable community resource to assist nonprofits by providing population-specific data and information for program planning, and in developing resources to meet the organizations’ funding needs.
