Anne Anton Koval Scholarship


Description

The Anne Anton Koval Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 by her family to memorialize Mrs. Koval.  The purpose of the scholarship is to support adult learners in Central Virginia who are pursuing a career in health care and are in need of financial support.  For the purposes of this scholarship, adult learners are defined as individuals who have completed high school but did not immediately pursue post-secondary education, or individuals who completed high school and earned a post-secondary degree, but have opted to return to school to pursue an alternative course of study.  Eligible applicants must be 21 years of age or older.

Eligibility

An eligible applicant must be an adult (defined as 21 years of age or older) residing in or attending school in the metro-Richmond area (defined as Richmond City, Henrico, Chesterfield, and Hanover).

An eligible applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary degree in a health care field.  For this scholarship, applicants must be seeking a field that will allow them to work directly with patients.

An eligible applicant must demonstrate financial need, a commitment to academic achievement, and a commitment to serving his or her community.

An eligible applicant must plan to enroll in or be currently enrolled in an accredited two or four-year college or university, or technical school in the continental United States. 

How Winners Are Chosen

Academic achievement and professional accomplishments evaluated based on prior academic records and professional resume.

Financial need evaluated on the basis of a statement of financial need.

Commitment to community service evaluated on the basis of the applicant’s involvement in the community through public service.

Interest in pursuing a post-secondary degree in a health care field.

Renewing Your Scholarship

Students who have received the Anne Anton Koval Memorial Scholarship in the past are eligibile to reapply for support and will be considered in competition with all other qualified candidates. Please follow the application instructions under "How to Apply."
