Georgienne B. Laws Scholarship
Description
The Georgienne B. Laws Scholarship was established in 2001 by Rosalind Knight to memorialize Mrs. Laws, a native of Mathews County and a longtime math teacher and guidance counselor at Thomas Hunter High School.
Eligibility
- An eligible student must be a senior attending Mathews County public schools
- An eligible student must demonstrate a commitment to academics, financial need, and strong participation in school activities and community services.
- An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year.
How Winners Are Chosen
- Commitment to community service and involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Academic achievement evaluated based on grade point average and academic honors.
- Financial need based on receipt of other scholarships.
