Granger Ancarrow Scholarship
Description
The Granger Ancarrow Scholarship Program was established in 2000 to benefit graduating seniors from public high schools throughout metropolitan Richmond and the Tri-Cities area. The scholarship supports post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying seniors from the “Central Region,” who demonstrate the same high standards encouraged by Granger Ancarrow, a coach and mentor to many track and field athletes.
Eligibility
An eligible student must be a senior attending a state-accredited public high school in metropolitan Richmond or the Tri-Cities area.
An eligible student must demonstrate sound academic work, financial need, participation in track and field, and involvement in school activities and community service.
An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university the following academic year.
How Winners Are Chosen
- Academic performance based on grade point average and SAT scores and acceptance to an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Financial need evaluated on the basis of the completed financial aid forms and information regarding pending scholarship applications, if any.
- Involvement in extracurricular and community service activities.
- Commitment to the sport of track and field.

Send one complete set of the attached application including:
- Supporting documents outlined on application form
- Personal statement of future goals
- Additional letter of recommendation from a track coach
Fill out the attached Financial Aid Form as instructed and send it to the university/college(s) for completion. The school will forward it to The Community Foundation.
