Harrison-Labouisse-Mayo Memorial Scholarship
Description
The Harrison-Labouisse-Mayo Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 by Ms. Sally Harrison in memory of 4 generations of the Harrison-Labouisse-Mayo family. The Scholarship was created to assist student who have faced a catastrophic circumstance that has affected their educational opportunities.
Eligibility
An eligible student must be a high school graduate of a public or private high school in Richmond City, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, or Goochland or a high school graduate of Woodberry Forest School.
An eligible student must demonstrate a commitment to academics, financial need, and strong participation in school activities and community services.
An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university in the continental United States the following academic year.
How Winners Are Chosen
- Academic achievement evaluated based on grade point average and SAT scores.
- Financial need evaluated on the basis of the completed financial aid forms and information regarding pending scholarship applications, if any.
- Leadership in school activities and community service evaluated on the basis of the student's extracurricular involvement, academic standing, honors and awards, and involvement in the community through public service.
- Catastrophic circumstance that has affected the student’s educational opportunities, based on personal statement.

Send the attached completed application including:
- Supporting documents outlined on application form
- Personal statement about overcoming an obstacle or some other type of difficulty
Complete top portion of attached financial aid form for each college/university being considered and send directly to financial aid office. College/university will complete form and return to The Community Foundation.
