Marcus & Edria Kaufman Memorial Scholarship
Description
The Marcus & Edria Kaufman Fund was established in 1993 by Patricia Story to honor her mother "Robbie" and stepfather Marcus. The Fund supports educational scholarships for children of Richmond City police officers.
Eligibility
An eligible student must be the child of a City of Richmond Police Officer
An eligible student must demonstrate academic promise and a commitment to community service
An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited four-year university or two-year community college the following academic year.
How Winners Are Chosen
Academic promise evaluated on the basis of regular attendance, grade point average and SAT scores.
Leadership in school activities and community service evaluated on the basis of the student's extracurricular involvement, academic standing, honors and awards.
Response to personal statement.
