Northumberland Civic Center Scholarship

Description

This scholarship fund was established to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying graduates of Northumberland High School in Heathville, Virginia. The fund is advised by a committee comprised of Northumberland County representatives on the Advisory Board of the River Counties Community Foundation, a regional affiliate of The Community Foundation. Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, financial need and future goals.

Eligibility

An eligible student must be a senior attending Northumberland High School, PO Box 40, Heathville, Virginia 22473.

An eligible student must demonstrate outstanding commitment to academics, school and community activities.

An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university in the continental United States the following academic year.

How Winners Are Chosen

Commitment and involvement in extracurricular and community service activities;

Academic achievement based on transcript and academic honors;

Future goals; and

Demonstration of financial need.

How to Apply

Send the attached completed application including:

  • Supporting documents outlined on application form
  • Personal statement about future goals

Complete top portion of attached financial aid form for each college/university being considered and send directly to financial aid office. College/university will complete form and return to The Community Foundation.
