Biography:
Lisa O’Mara joined The Community Foundation in January 2004 as Donor Services Officer. Now as Vice President of Donor Engagement, Lisa works with donors and their families to engage in strategic and effective grantmaking. She oversees the Foundation’s donor advised gift and grant programs which process nearly 3,000 gifts annually and over $25,000 million in grants. She is the lead staff for the Foundation’s two giving circles; the Richmond Giving Circle and Impact 100 Richmond. The Richmond Giving Circle provides a unique networking and grantmaking experience for young professions interest in giving back together. Impact 100 Richmond engages 100 women to contribute $1,000 each with the goal of awarding one, $100,000 transformational grant to a local nonprofit organization. Previously, Lisa worked in development with Randolph-Macon College in Ashland and in political fundraising in Rochester, NY, Washington, DC and Virginia. Her volunteer activities include serving as Board Chair of the Richmond Police Athletic League, founding member of neXt, an estate planners networking group, and as Board member of the Virginia Gift Planning Council. She is a graduate of the LMR Class of 2010. Lisa received her BS in communications from Rochester Institute of Technology.
