Biography:

Melissa Hough is the Executive Director of the Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence, an affiliated entity of The Community Foundation.  In this role, she leads collaboration among the partner programs – ConnectRichmond, Consulting Solutions, HandsOnGreater Richmond, and Nonprofit Learning Point – to help local nonprofits maximize their operational capacity and effectively achieve their goals. 

Melissa has nearly 20 years of experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining the PNE, Melissa was Vice President of Workforce Readiness, Business and Community Engagement for Corporate Voices for Working Families.  She was also Vice President for National Partnerships and Development at the Forum for Youth Investment where she helped build the Ready by 21 National Partnership.  Throughout her career, she also served in a variety of leadership positions at Altria Client Services, Inc., Philip Morris USA and the National Conference of State Legislatures. 

Melissa previously served on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Richmond & Tri-Cities.  She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond.

A Colorado native, Melissa earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Wyoming and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver.  She is also a certified leadership coach.
