Biography:

Michelle is the Controller for The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia.  In this role, she is responsible for ensuring that financial transactions for The Community Foundation, supporting organizations, affiliates and related entity, are properly recorded.  She serves as the lead staff for the investment committee and manages the administration of the charitable trusts.  Michelle assists the Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration, with the annual audit, preparation of the financial statement and IRS Form 990, and other financial reporting needs.  Michelle joined the staff of The Community Foundation in June 2009.  Before joining TCF, Michelle was the Assistant Controller for First Market Bank and also worked in the audit practice of McGladrey & Pullen LLP in Bethesda, MD and Richmond, VA. 

Michelle has served on the Board of Directors of CARITAS since 2009.  She has served as a mentor in the AMP! Metro Richmond Program and currently participates in the neXt Estate Planning Group.  She serves on the Parents’ Council of her children’s school. 

Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.B.A. in Accounting from James Madison University in 2000.
