Biography:

Susan Brown Davis joined The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia in April 1994 as its third professional staff member.  She was named Senior Vice President, Community Leadership Initiatives in 2006.  In this role, she oversees the Foundation's competitive grantmaking program, which distributed over $6 million in grants, scholarships and professional development awards last year.  

Prior to joining the Foundation, Susan was a health planning consultant at the Virginia Department of Health, Division of Maternal and Child Health.  She has over 30 years experience in the development and administration of human service programs in public and nonprofit organizations.

Susan is a member of the Leadership Committee for the Greater Richmond 2030 Age Wave Plan and she is a volunteer with HandsOn Greater Richmond.  She has previously served on many nonprofit boards including Child Savers, Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, Communities in Schools of Richmond, Fan Free Clinic and St. Andrew’s School.  Currently, she serves on the Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond. Susan is also a 1997 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond, an organization that identifies, educates and motivates a diverse mix of community leaders to address the present future challenges facing Richmond.   Susan earned a B.S. in Secondary Education from West Virginia University.
